Gumweed Seeds - Grindelia Grandiflora - Perennial & Pollinator Friendly
Quantity: 100 Seeds
Gumweed, aka Grindelia Grandiflora, is an ornamental and medicinal plant from the Aster family, Asteraceae. It originates in Western North America, and lives as a perennial down to zone 7. The plant gets its name from the sticky resin it exudes, especially from the younger flowering buds. This resin has expectorant and sedative properties, and has been used in the treatment of heart and lung conditions. Pollinators are very attracted to the flowers, so it's a great plant to have around the garden to increase crop pollination. They smell very good too.
All seeds are organic and open pollinated.

Growing Instructions
Directly sow Gumweed seeds in the earth as soon as the ground becomes workable in early spring to early summer. Sow seeds 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep. Under ideal growing conditions, plants can grow to be about two feet tall, and one foot wide. They thrive in full sun, but will also grow well in partial shade. They like loamy or sandy soils, and don't seem to be particular to PH, but does like the soil to be free draining of water. These plants are heat, deer, and pest resistant, and can provide one with an abundance of blooms for years to come.
