Numex Twilight Pepper Seeds - Capsicum Annuum - Ornamental & Delicious
Quantity: 10 Seeds
Species: Capsicum Annuum
Scovilles: 30,000 - 50,000
Numex Twilight is an excellent variety of capsicum annuum. These compact plants are both productive and ornamental. At any given time, you may see peppers of five different colours; purple, cream, yellow, orange, and then finally red. The pods are mild in heat; roughly the same as a cayenne or tabasco. They taste crisp, tangy, and a little bit sweet. Numex Twilight grows to be about 2.5 feet tall, and equally wide. Under ideal growing conditions, these plants can yield hundreds of pods. They taste great when dried and ground into a powder, but they also make a delicious addition to pickling recipes or fermented hot sauces.
All seeds are organic and open pollinated.
Growing Instructions
Its best to start pepper seeds as early in the season as possible; for us this is in January and February. It's good to sow them in a sterile growing medium; most available seed starting soils should do the job nicely; we use sunshine mix (peat moss and perlite). The soil should be made moist, but not damp. Sow the seeds 1/4 inch below the soil surface. Store in a warm area until tiny sprouts emerge from the soil. A heat mat aids in this step. Once germinated, and the first true leaf have formed, it's time to pot up to a larger container that contains a good quality potting soil. Transplant to their final location when the nighttime temperatures are consistently 8°C or higher. Peppers do best when grown in full sun. Numex Twilight peppers grow very well in pots or containers.
